Solstice is looking for motivated students to join our paid Pizza Apprentice program! This is your chance to learn the art of pizza-making from scratch while earning some serious dough (pun intended!).
Here's the Deal:
Hands-on Training: You'll learn all the tricks of the trade, from mixing dough and preparing toppings to mastering the art of wood-fired cooking.
Develop Key Skills: Gain valuable teamwork skills, learn to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen, and impress your friends with your pizza-making prowess.
Summer Employment Opportunity: Top performers will be offered the chance to continue working at Solstice throughout the summer.
What You'll Learn:
Kitchen Know-How: Master kitchen safety, sanitation, and efficient workstation setup.
Dough Master: Learn to mix, weigh, roll, and stretch dough like a pro.
Topping Tactics: Discover the secrets to selecting and preparing the freshest and tastiest toppings.
Wood-Fired Wonders: Learn the art of cooking pizzas to perfection in our wood-fired ovens.
Knife Skills & More: Gain experience with various kitchen tools and techniques.
Qualifications:
Age: Must be 16 years old or older
Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Work Experience: Must have at least one year (or season) of prior work experience
Food Handlers Permit: Required
Application: Submit a resume, cover letter, and references
Availability: Meetings & work training dates required, available to work a minimum of 12 hours per week from mid June through September 7th
Wednesday, March 11th 4:00 - 5:00 PM: Open house & pizza tasting
March 18th: Applications due on or before the 18th
March 25th: Accepted apprentices notified & pickup employee paperwork
April 1st: Employee paperwork due on or before the 1st
Tuesday April 14th 4:30 - 6:30 PM: Kitchen orientation, safety 101, setting up for success, clocking in/out, homebase 101, uniforms
Tuesday: April 21st 4:30 - 6:30 PM: Dough 101, making, cutting & rolling, dough stretching, GF dough
Tuesday April 28th 4:30 - 6:30 PM: Pizza building & finishing
Tuesday, May 5th 4:30 - 6:30: Pizza Truck 101, basic prep
Tuesday, May 12th 4:30 - 6:30: Pizza skills training
Tuesday, May 19th 4:30 - 6:30: Wrap Up
Tuesday, June 9th 5:00 - 8:00: HRVHS Graduation Party
