OUR STORY
Founded by husband-and-wife team Suzanne and Aaron Baumhackl, Solstice is a warm and welcoming everyday community gathering place at The Waterfront complete with outdoor patio seating and art by local artists. Featuring an imported Italian wood fire oven, the cafe specializes in rustic and inventive pizzas, seasonal chef’s entrees, local veggies & salads, and fresh homemade pasta and sauces. The bar serves culinary-inspired cocktails, 11 rotating local microbrews, hard cider, and house wine on tap. Little ones are invited to enjoy the yummy kids menu. Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan choices are plentiful.
OUR HISTORY
Solstice first opened in Bingen, WA in February 2007. We added two mobile wood fire pizza ovens in 2011 and 2012 for catering at venues across the Pacific Northwest. We built our gorgeous new digs and moved to the Hood River, OR waterfront on Dec. 12, 2013. Our Bingen, WA location closed in October 2013. Plastic straws; love em' or leave em? While fun to suck, straws actually suck for our oceans. Every day, 500 million straws are used in the US, making them the largest ocean pollutant. We're going to do our little part to reduce that by not automatically serving straws with your drinks anymore.
